Resolved: I Will Speak Up and Advocate for Transplantation in 2020

Date: January 14, 2020
Time: 6:00 pm  to  7:00 pm

Everyone in the transplant and donation community is invited to a special presentation on proposed laws affecting transplant patients and those waiting for a transplant. Guest speaker, Sara Hicklin (Holmen), a recipient and volunteer on the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin’s Advocacy Committee will talk about the new proposed bill that would create lifetime coverage for immunosuppression medications!

Sara will also share how any donation advocate can lend support to get the Living Donors Protection Act passed in 2020. If this bill becomes law, it would eliminate the financial, employer and insurance barriers that keep people from becoming a living kidney or liver donor.

The Living Well monthly programs are organized by the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin, and this event is a joint offering  with the American Liver Foundation – Upper Midwest Division. Each monthly program is live-streamed on Facebook. Individuals living in the greater Milwaukee-area can also attend in person. See www.kidneywi.org for the meeting location.

Dinner is served, so registration is encouraged.

Programs are FREE and open to all recipients, living donors and patients waiting for a transplant. Family members and professionals who care for transplant patients are always welcome.

Register by calling 414-897-8669, Ext 13 or emailing programs@kidneywi.org.
